American Marketing Assoication: Vice President

January 2024- Current

As Vice President of the American Marketing Association, I helped plan and execute opportunities to give students real-world marketing experience through national competitions, chapter collaborations, and creative projects. My roles include:

Leadership: Helped lead the planning and execution of weekly chapter meetings, each centered around a semester-long creative campaign competition. PLNU’s AMA chapter participated in the AMA’s national ICC Case competition, as well as the New Blood Awards

Campaign Development & Execution:

  • Helped craft PLNU’s AMA chapter plan and annual report that detailed our plans and our execution

  • Represented PLNU at the the first-ever San Diego AMA “Campaign in a Day,” collaborating with Red Door Interactive and Autism Tree to develop a marketing strategy in under three hours. Our team created a targeted hiring campaign, optimized Autism Tree’s landing page, and built a community Discord server. PLNU won the competition, against SDSU, USD, and CSU San Marcos.

  • Help craft and direct the creation of a video campaign for Orbit Gum's "Chew Good" initiative for the D&AD New Blood Awards. The campaign centered around optimism, mindfulness, and human connection through visual storytelling to align with Orbit's creative campaign of bringing awareness to mental illness among Gen Z

  • Contributed to the development of our chapter’s creative campaign for AMA’s International Collegiate Conference (ICC) Case Competition, which challenged teams to make Adobe Express more relevant to Gen Z. We created “Adobe YOUniversity”, a digital hub designed to help students form connections, participate in creative challenges, and access curated templates and tutorials tailored to their academic and professional goals.

National Awards & Competitions:

  • Awarded Honorable Mention at AMA’s International Collegiate Conference (ICC) in 2023–2024, the only San Diego school to earn recognition.

  • Awarded Commendable Mention at the 2024–2025 ICC, again the only San Diego chapter to receive national recognition.

  • Won San Diego AMA’s first “Campaign in a Day” event against other San Diego Collegiate Chapters

Through this leadership role, I’ve gained experience in strategic planning, campaign development, team management, and cross-functional collaboration—all while helping grow a small but driven chapter into success!
